I have a history of acute recurrent Pancreatitis over 10years long, with dual Sphincterotomies done 9 months ago that also resulted in a retroperitoneal small bowel perforation and ongoing frequent attacks of acute Pancreatitis. My ampulla goes into a diverticulum in the small bowel.
A Triple phase CT Scan done today shows air in the intrahepatic radicals, and in the bile duct, which is dilated to 8.8 mms. There is also air in the Pancreatic Duct which is mildly dilated in the head 4.7-5 mms which I've had for some time I haven't had an acute attack of Pancreatitis for 5 weeks since starting on Creon but today's CT Scan showed no signs of Acute or Chronic Pancreatitis. Should I still have Pneumobilia like this? I am concerned about a possible Fistula or leak coming from the site of the small bowel causing the ongoing Pneumobilia which has been present since the Sphincterotomies were done. Drs don't seem to care about the Pneumobilia and one Dr seemed to think its normal and I might have it forever, but I am concerned especially about possible infection coming from the small bowel into the Biliary hepatic vessels and also can this air be causing the ongoing Pancreatitis?
