fainting on an airplane

I have fainted on a plane three times during long journeys.  It usually happens after waking up from a deep sleep. I wake up, start feeling sick to my stomach, get up to try and go to the restroom and then I pass out. My doctor says that I should elevate my legs abouve heart level. That is impossible on an airplane. has anybody out there experienced it and done anything about it. I do not have a heart condition, or thrombosis. My blood pressure is normally a little below the norm. The limited oxygen in the plane further lowers my pressure, but what can I do to prevent the fainting spells? After I come to I have a vomiting spell that lasts for hours. When I finally get to sleep on a bed, I sleep for hours and then wake up feeling perfectly ok.

I faint on about half of the flights- the problem is that they won't let me lie down which means that I continue to faint- on one flight,  when I fainted while sitting up, I vomited and then aspirated it into my lungs- coming out unable to breathe for a while- scared the hell out of me

If your blood pressure is dropping even lower on the plane then that's why your passing out. You really need to try and walk around on the plane as much as possible.
Do you take Dramamine? That may help with your sick stomach. Take care. Remar
