The lady took one tube of blood and off it went for syphilis and HIV testing. Both came back as non reactive.
My question is p24 antigen multiples enough to be in the blood?
So are you saying the duo test is very accurate and more sensitive?
The blood was enough?
What do you think of my RA, how did I get RA from urinary infection / viral?
Mate, your clutching at straws trying to change your negative result ! Why??
The P24 is very sensitive abs routinely diagnoses HIV, it is further backed up with more blood tests to confirm the strain.
As long as she took blood from you then that's fine, don't over think things.
These tests are computer led tests, there is minimal human action required and they are impossible to get wrong.
You must accept that your negative Duo puts you in the clear.
You can now log off forums and move on with your life :)
Best Wishes
James
There is no test manufactured that will give a conclusive results before three months . The cdc recommends that testing should be done three months after the exposure . The initial grounds for testing is at six week and then again at three months . If there is no other potential exposure in between then the results are reliable . When someone recieves a negative result at the respective time , the the results are accurate . Symptoms ymean nothing and can relate to other illness. Test results always overrule exposure history, symptoms, and all manifestations of the brain . While the mind is a very powerful tool , it's critical that you use it wisely. I know what your going trough, I've been there ! Stop searching the website reading things that can only increase your anixities! In the meanwhile stay mellow and enjoy life . It's your life ! You own it and it doesn't own you ! Regardless of what your test results may read , embrace them ! Their yours! And at the end if the day you are still in control . It's easy to get mad or feel afraid . However, you still have life to live . Live it !
Please, with all respect scareddude14, you are simply wrong.
The CDC has even updated it's guidelines to confirm that a 4th Generation test at 28 days post exposure can be considered conclusive.
You may have the best intentions but you are simply going to further peoples anxieties with your out of date and plainly wrong information.
Nowwhatdoihave - you are fine to move on without a concern, your test is conclusive. Best wishes
SD14: R27R is correct. CDC now recommends DUO as the HIV screening test of choice and advises that 4 weeks is conclusive. not her change with the new guidelines is that Western blot is no longer the main or recommended confirmatory test for positive DUO or antibody result.
NWDIH: your reactive arthritis isn't from the handjob. ReA is triggered by a number of infections involving either the genitourinary or GI tract, including chlamdia, gonorrhea, and various diarrheal diseases. And some cases occur without any recognized trigger infection. It is simply nonsense to assume HIV has anything to do with your ReA or any other symptoms you are having. Anyway, since this forum is only for HIV issues and you don't have ie, there's no point in continuing to ask.
