Swollen Armpit and sweating, possible HIV.

Hey. I am very worried despite having read a lot on possible symptoms of HIV that don't exactly describe my symptoms, because I can't find any other std that does?? About 7 months ago I had sex for the first time in about 2 years with a Philippine prostitute in some sleazy motel in my city. We didn't use a condom and we did it 3 times. Each time i showered after and so did she. I asked her after and she told me she didnt have hiv and that she only had sex without protection because she trusted me as I was young? 22. About a month later I got a 1mm wide 1mm high button on me penis just under my cut. I also had some stinging. then a few months after that I started getting recurring swelling under my right arm and some sweating ( day and night ) although it is very hot where I live. I am very worried. Another fact is that I have gained alot of weight recently just because I dont really care to play sports or do anything other than watch movies as any moment Im left with my own thoughts feel so sick. I can't get tested because if pos i will never take meds anyway and will have to disappear somewhere where my family will never find out and I dont know how I will survive. Does diabetes have these symptoms?? Ive just graduated and have a good job, helping my family out and Im about to loose it all. Im so unlucky, first contact with a women in so long and this is what I get. I think its karma.

Please any help, or details. I went to doctor once and told him some vague symptoms and he basically said nothing other than recommend a blood test and a nutritionist appointment?

Hi everyone -

Let's all remember that we are a support site, and insults are not support. That said, there is nothing that anyone on a message board anywhere can say that can determine if someone has HIV or not - only a test can do that. Of course there are other things that can cause these symptoms, and you wouldn't present with symptoms like this from HIV.

That said, you have some symptoms and it is clear you need to see a doctor. It is a waste of time to sit and worry about something that could me any number of different things - some STDs, some not - and that could easily be taken care of with medication.

The only way to know is to test.

I was hoping someone would say: Actually there are other sicknesses that could cause those symptoms.... Something to make me think its not hopeless and maybe I would get tested if there's a good chance its not HIV. But your answer has basically reassured me its HIV.
