Trying with condom

Hi,

I am a gay person. I've never been bottom before. I wanted to try this with someone recently. I asked about his STI status and he told me he is negative. We tried using condoms and lube. There was no full penetration, just pressing on the anus. Maybe he entered the anus a little bit, I don't know if this counts as penetration, but he was wearing condom during this process. My concern is did he put the condom on correctly, could there be unseen tears etc.  Lately, due to hemorrhoids, I sometimes see blood on the toilet paper. That's why I was worried and wanted to ask. What is my risk status? Many thanks

I agree. Pressing against your anus will not result in transmission. But he was wearing a condom as well making this no risk. Condoms are a barrier and your urethra is all that needs to be covered and it was. Remember the only risks, vaginal or anal intercourse or sharing IV needles to inject drugs. Air inactivates the virus. I would say no risk from your activity.

Without full penetration, there would not be a realistic risk of getting HIV. HIV does not infect easily, and generally requires the head of a penis to be rubbing inside an anus, like what would occur during full intercourse.

That said, condoms don't get "unseen holes." This would cause the condom to break completely with any friction. As long as the head of the other person's penis was covered, there is no risk for HIV.

I don't see any real HIV risk in what you did.
