recovery time for left sided ablation due to transseptal puncture

hello everyone.

I'm due to go back for a second attempt at a left sided ablation for WPW on the 23rd October. I went back in September but the procedure had to be stopped due to the catheter going into the artery instead of the vein (rolls eyes) but anyway i was just wondering if there is a difference in the recovery period of a left sided ablation due to a transseptal puncture?

Was just interested to see if anyone has any experiences or advice?

Thanks again

(Sorry... typing on a phone)
Mine was a left sided ablation, but the puncture was avoided due to the structure of my heart.  A good EP doctor should always investigate this path as an alternate possibility.

Many cardiac ablations are left side are left sided procedures, so the transseptal puncture is not unusual.  The recovery times often mentioned here on the forum include the puncture.  You'll be  in 4 or 5 days. Some people report episodes of sharp pain during the recovery period and attribute that to the puncture healing; who knows.  My in was a left rocedure
