Vitamin B causing PVC's

Hi all. This is my first post here as I have just found this forum, what a great resourse.  I pose this question.  Why is Vitamin B causing PVC's?  I am a healthy 29 y/o Male and about 2 years ago I started getting palpitations.  I am a paramedic and so I hooked myself up at work and found that I was getting PVC's (2-3 hundred a day).  I never drinv coffee or alchool and I don't smoke. I found that the PVC's came and went and slowly over time realised that they came only when I was taking multi-vitamins.  Figuring that was the problem without taking the multi-vit I added a different vitamin every week until I found the culprit and Vitamin B is it.  As far as all the reading I have done on the subject Vit B is supposed to stop the PVC's... ...any idea's on why it starts them in me? I would like to get some extra vitamin's and it will get VERY expensive if I have to take all the vit's individually.

Thanks for any info,

Michael Davis

I'm in the same exact boat. A B complex range fluid ounce per day started my heart palpitations. Every time I take a multivitamin with B in it, the palpitations start again. But since B's are water soluble, drinking water helps. I take separate vitamin pills, such as C, E, D etc. and eat whole foods to avoid synthetic B. But the problem happens with foods that are high in B as well. I'm seeing doctors now, but will likely need to go to Chinese medicine since Western medicine is so limited.

Well, to begin with, B vitamins are really rough on your tummy, especially the synthetic ones. I can not take them, I get so sick to my stomach I sometimes bend over. However, I now take a brand by Standard Process labs and it is awesome. It is all food grade, not synthetic at all and it helps with PVC's and all kinds of heart trouble. I have read articles by doctors, one in particular, that said that synthetic vitamins are a waste of money and time, and all they do is give you healthy urine as that is where they go. The ones I take, on the other hand, are assimilated and go to work where they should. This one doctor who specializes in heart patients, says he has seen heart graphs improve almost in a week after being on them. You see, the food grade has B 4 in it, and you can not get that in synthetic B vitamins. Without B4, your heart can NOT be healthy. The names of the two products I take are: Cataplex B and Vasculin. These are both great for heart irregularities as well as a host of other things, There is also a product called Cardi-Plus, this is great too, it is similar to Vasculin, but for folks with higher blood pressure. This company has as whole line of supplements, all natural, and the "Rolls Royce" in quality. You can not get them just anywhere however, they are really picky about who they let sell their product. Usually, Naturopaths sell them, and some compounding pharmacies as these pharmacies usually work with vitamins as well as drugs, there are also a few sites on the net where you can obtain them. If you or anyone wants more info on them, just PM me. I am not affiliated with them, they do not do that, LOL, they would never lower themselves to be that way. I am just very interested in helping others and like to share what I know. This area happens to be my specialty. You might be allergic to the ingredients in the synthetic vitamins also, food/chemical allergies can make a person really sick, I know, I have lots, LOL.)

Oh yes, if you take B vitamin shots, be careful, they are hard too and in some folks can really sting as they are being administered, they gave me horrible tummy pain and cramps, again, they were synthetic, I am so darn sensitive.

Anyway, hope this helps and feel free to PM me anytime with questions, I love to help.

Hi Mike,

The PVC's sure can be a pain, can't they?

Did you do any kind of food diary while you were swapping out vitamins to see if there was some other potential cause?

The reason I ask is because for awhile I was thinking the same thing as you - I would take a One-a-Day for a few weeks, then notice the PVC's kicking up.  So I'd stop, but the PVC's would continue long afterward, making me question whether it was just coincidence in timing.  (I didn't do a food diary.)  I've also had periods where I take the multivitamin for awhile and nothing happens.

So I don't have an answer for you - just another question, I'm afraid.
