pvc's

I have had pvc's for serveral years, I had an ablation done around 7 years ago. I have good days and bad bays. Skipped beats here and there, sometimes a couple of skipped beats in a row and then the run of skipped beats here and there last for awhile until I get a couple of skipped beats in a row then they go away for awhile. I have learned to live with it and it has become part of my life. I have all the test done and there are normal pvc's. Just recently I have been a on a strict diet "ducan diet" and lost 20 lbs in like 6 weeks. I had blood work done and everything is all good. My only concern is I have been getting runs that last from 8 am to 10 pm for the past 5 days. Soo many skipped beats, some that feel like 5  to 7 in row. I have an event monitor on the they say there are beats bewtween I just can't feel them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to kill this run? I can't take it anymore.

"How to kill this run..."??

I wish I had a ready solution for you...I am in the exact same situation...weeks/months of improvement, now back to square one...the last 3 days have been terrible.

I have heard of several potential remedies to break a bad run of PVCs, especially bigeminy and trigeminy - "bearing down", breathing techniques, ice cold water shock therapy...etc etc. Search the archives on this site, do your due diligence, and you will discover that there are many posts you can review, and formulate your own opinion. For me - nothing works!! Unfortunately in my case, it has to play itself out, and there is nothing I can do to stop it...a very helpless feeling.

Hopefully you will find something that works for you. Just curious - was your ablation for PVCs or another condition?? I am very interested to hear from people who have had, or explored ablation procedures for PVCs...I have read many mixed reviews. My cardiologist has informed me that he won't even consider an ablation in my case - but, I am still very interested.

Hang in there - try and stay calm, and trust that the bad cycle will pass.

HI.  Are you taking mag at all?  I had bigeminy for 6 weeks once.  I used to have tons of runs and although I still get episodes, since taking Calcium in the AM and Mag in the eve, they have become much better.  Worth a try!

I just take one Oscal or the equivalent in the AM and a liquid gel tab of mag (I use Carlson) in the eve.  I don't have the bottle in front of me, but I'm thinking 4 or 5 hundred??

I experience these clusters of PVC's every 6 months or so.  I'm 1+  year post ablation.  Just when I'm starting to get alarmed enough to call the dr., they vanish.  Just had blood work done too.  My electrolytes look fine.  I'm just now coming off a 2 week cluster of perhaps several thousand PVC's per day. They sort of fade as opposed to just shutting off.

Do you find any rhyme or reason to why they flare up?? When you say several thousand per day, I assume you "feel" them all? That is my issue - I would be ok to have PVCs, if only I didn't feel every one of them...

This morning (day 4) started just like last night ended...several PVCs, sometimes more then one a minute...I am trying to stay clam, but this is brutal...the thought of having to suffer like this every day is devastating. I feel like I should ask for another holter, but my cardiologist feels it isn't necessary....help?!?!

I took Zanax yesterday. I felt them but I felt so relaxed I didn't care about them. This might help u relax and take them off your mind until the go away. The only other suggestion is try to forget about them or think if them as a game and try to make it fun while counting them. We all just can't stop living. They will go away from being so frequent.

Even when I didn't know I had them I felt them so not sure how people don't notice.  I can see not noticing pacs becasue those feel like little burps to me but the pvcs I feel.  Maybe it has partly to due with where our irritated cells are compared to other people.  Take care I hope you feel better soon.

The interesting thing is that majority of people can never feel PVCs. Even most people who have thousands of PVCs a day are completely asymptomatic. I think the ability to perceive PVCs depends on the sensitivity of your central nervous system. My cardio told me that even though men statistically have more PVCs more than women, most patients who come in complain of palpitations are female. Furthermore, the ability to feel PVCs deminishes greatly with age, probably due to the aging of CNS. Doc told me that very few elederly ever feel ectopic beats, even though most of seniors have a lot of them. In fact, many people in their late 60's and 70's can't feel a-fib or v-tach. Many people who were able to feel PVCs in their 30's and 40's loose that ability once they are in their 60's and 70's. My doc has thousands of PVCs per day and he is completely asymptomatic. He never felt them without checking his pulse. People who can feel ectopic beats represent a small minority of all people who have ectopics on a daily basis (about 90% of all people have them, about 1% can feel them).
