HBV is a chronic illness and requires life-long monitoring and management. Depending on your age and history, you should check your viral load (hbvdna) and ALT at least yearly. There are now reasonably priced drugs to control Hepatitis B, to prevent it from progressing to serious liver diseases, such as cirrhosis and HCC. HBV usually does not have any symptoms until it is too late; poor digestion is not usually related to HBV.
