When I look at your history it is very clear that when you started taking vitamin D your HBV DNA dropped dramatically. It seems like everything is the result of vitamin D. If you pay close attention you will see that your HBV DNA went up whenever your vitamin D level went down. Congrats. Keep the vitamin D going.
Here is my latest Results:
September 2016
----------------------
AST 22
ALT 21
Vit D 23 ng
HBV DNA 336 iu/ml
HBSAG Quant. 79 iu/ml
Fibroscan = 5.5 kpa
Ultrasound Result: Coarsened hepatic echotexture suggesting chronic hepatocellular disease, possibly steatosis. No morphologic findings to suggest cirrhosis. No suspicious focal hepatic lesions.
My ultrasound was always reported as "minimal corsened" on this one they didn't say "minimal" does that mean it progressed?
What is your hbsag quantity Aduisky? I'm like you genotype D
i d be very interested on cuban vaccine too as an add on and if cheap in cuba
i just replied privately but better put it public too so we help others in similar situation
we have see gcmaf and vit d3 can prevent heavy sides from peg, only few members tried this but i think it worths to try this add on to peg.if sides are not heavy suggestion from top researchers is not good because with your low hbsag and genotype d it worths try 12-24 weeks to see response and if no response then go for tdf
if we go to tdf directly we dont know if peg can give an immune boost that may last for 5-10years making a faster hbsag decline on tdf mono
I am geno D...so I decided to either start with tdf or entecavir with a most likely switch to taf when it becomes available in australia (2-3 years from now..at that time we'll also have more data on its long-term effectiveness).
I just recently contacted few top-notch research doctors...they are advising me to get on NUCs rather then interferon and wait for upcoming newer medications for hep B.
What is your opinion?
I expect my next test in 2 month to be decreased because it fluctuate
I wanted add more info about my previous lab result

Hep B surf Ab reactive
December 26th, 2015, alt 47, ast 23

Thank you for your post. HBV has many mysteries, virological breakthrough(increase in hbvdna) during antiviral treatment is one of them. Why?What is the mechanism? Sometimes virological breakthroughs can be attributed to non-compliance, but some seem to have no explanation.
Can I clarify, you have developed HBsAb but you are still HBsAg positive?
my hbv dna went undetected for a few years, (maybe since 2009 or 2010), and I've been taking viread daily. Last January, blood work shown sudden spike in hbv dna, and dr also asked me to do another blood work in 2 months as well, I was trying to blame the delicious New York steak once from Costco I ate a week before the bloodwork, then in May 2015, HBV dna went undetected again, and July 2015 bloodwork, HBV surf anti-body developed. It is possible the immune system need some stimulation rom hbv dna to make hbv surf anti-body.
After losing control i assume they started you on treatment? Or were you on treatment from the begining?
I just don't get the difference in fluctuating 2 to 3 logs
Ya that is why i went to my general physiscians in june for ultrasound :)
You professor is statistically right, but ultrasound is not so expesive so I think you should make tests anyway every 6 months, better react early than regret.
Notice that all recomendations is the consensus between medical knowledge and money to spent by healthcare :)
I have This 2conditions but m'y hepato didn't put me under nucs because she sees that I have 0fibrosis so no damage.i think treatment of hbv defer from doc to another and from patient to another .i will see her next month and see what will suggest according to my blood test and us.i did biopsy and fibroscan on April if I remember well.
Ya my professor think no medication at all. Even ultrasound every 2 years. She say im young and when i ask her about the articles and guidelines. She say most of these statistics are made for asians and who didnt get monitored and no drugs were avaialble then. She said im under monitoring and once she see a rise in my hbv dna > 20000 iu or a raise in Alt she will use antiviral or peg
Ut is true m'y hepato wants to put me under interf but she hesitates because of sides effects on me and on my children so no problems with insurance.but my next check I will discuss well with her about this I want really to give my body a chance.
it kind of follows drug makers/insurance companies power over governments...US and UK too lately almost run by these entities on helathcare field
I think it's US specific that doctors or maybe rather insurance companies don't like interferon. In Europe it's usually first line drug if no contraindications. But that depends on the country too, in UK they prefer nucs too.
I can relate Mike. Although I really like my Hepatologist, a have lost faith in all specialists in my State wanting to cure HBV. Yes, they want to treat with antivirals but when asked about add on Interferon down the road none are fans. Is this what you are referring to?
