"my viral lload was 5000000 and after 1 month of stopping it rose to 6000000. "
Yes... your viral loads are quite high... mine were in somewhat of the same range. But is that all, or did you have other reasons for starting interferons? ALT? ultrasound? biopsy?
"how long did you take interferon and wat was the consiquence of stopping the treatment?"
I had to stop treatment after one year, because interferons are not given for longer periods -- the results have not been studied, and the side-effects make life quite complicated for many people, including me.
"and how long are you infected? "
Don't know. Detected positive a couple of years ago.
"and one more thing I'm always feeling some pain in my liver area... is that serious or do you experience it too? "
No... I never felt any pain. What does your doc say about this? Any scans or tests for this?
and one more thing I'm always feeling some pain in my liver area...
is that serious or do you experience it too?
thanks
hi sharp,
my viral lload was 5000000 and after 1 month of stopping it rose to 6000000.
how long did you take interferon and wat was the consiquence of stopping the treatment?
and how long are you infected?
thanks man! :)
The viral load shoots back up if interferons do not completely get rid of HepB. I know that from personal experience. If you have missed your shots for a month, get your VL checked immediately, if you see it rising, you need to start medication immediately.
The virus does not develop resistance to interferons, so there is no danger of that. However, if you had detectable VL and were on other (nucleot(s)ide) medication, and had been off meds for a month, the consequences may have been much much worse.
hi,
Hte doctor just want to lower the viral load thats why I am took the anti-viral drugs and now interferon...
all test are ok including ultrasound and other blood test ALT, etch is ok.
I hope all will be ok for us..
It was detected when I was 22 now Im 28...
do you know anyone with a high viral load like me?
thanks
I had Hep. B back in the mid to late 70's so it has been awhile. I pretty much forget about having it. It still shows positive on my blood test . Sometime the test show liver function issues and it has something to do with protien levels showing up on liver function test. I have heard that Hep C can cause Liver Cancer but I have not heard about risk of cancer from B, is this the reason you are taking interferon, chance of liver cancer?
its hep B. It was detected 6 yrs ago.. how l9ong did you have hep b?
thanks
Hi, did you hve Hep B or C. I had B years ago and it still shows positive on my blood test although I have no more symptoms. I knew that interferon is used for C but I was not aware of Interferon for B??? Thanks, Hey Jude
