HCV back 12 week EOT

My husband was on Sovaldi, PEGASYS and COPEG for a 12 week regimen. Genotype 1a, and all his EOT were undetectable and now 12 week EOT, it is back. HCV QUANTITATION by RT-PCR 1,770,000.
I am still in shock, and I had to tell him since I got the news first.

Sorry for the news - but at least his liver got a rest from the virus which is a good thing.

I have forgotten (who has ever treated w INF and has any kind of memory?), if I ever knew what your husband's Gt is.

I ask because there are studies going on w/Led right now by Gilead, which are really emphasizing Gt 1s and 2 s.

Also Bristol MeyersSquibb are studying Dac - I am not sure but that may be w/Gt 3 s.

These are both very close to being marketed, so keep the faith!  Tell your Hubby I am praying for both of you. SVR is in all our futures, it may just take a little longer than we thought!  Pat

I don't know, maybe Sovaldi dosage, there was a list posted a few weeks ago about factors of curing. Look back through the forum, it was if you had over 2 factors the odds went down I think.

Not sure where the 165# comes into play.  I would think height would be an issue.  Am i missing something here?

I am so sorry to hear this.  What difficult news for both of you.  I am 1a and just finished that treatment.  Your news is my biggest fear.

I know it means little at this moment, but we can be hopeful and take comfort in the new drugs on the way.

Take time to recover from treatment and this news.  Prayers that we all slay this dragon soon.

Virtual hugs..

I am so sorry to read this, so upsetting, like was said before, at least his liver go a break. Hopefully whatever is on the horizon will work for him. Yes, there was a list a while back about different factors for cure vs no cure, and I think the magic number for weight was 165 lbs.

Thank you, I know, at 12 weeks EOT.  And he was finally getting energy back, but like I said above, I did notice some moodiness and that he felt sensitive in the upper right side. He had that horrendous car accident last year, so he has so much scar tissue in his abdomen, hard to figure out what is going on. He also is very overweight, so from much of my reading, I did note someplace that could also make treatment harder. Have you ever heard anything about that, or has anyone else? Sugar is his weakness....

Dear Nan!!!! Hi!!!! Yes, his doctor  (gastro) is so upset as well, he is sending my husband to see another doctor that specializes in a Hep C. I didn't even think of asking about having the test rerun, I was in too much shock when I opened the letter from his doc. The one thing that bothered me was that his ALT and AST was never perfect after treatment. Not extremely high, but not in range. Like a foreboding....okay, will ask about a retest, good idea. How is your husband doing? Hugs....
