Why is my hsv1 result so high and does it mean I'm contagious

2 months ago I tested positive for hsv1. The online lab results read "FHSV 1 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC AB 38.00" From what I have read, this is a very high positive. My test from last week returned a value of 29.40. Are these numbers an indication of how contagious I am? Are these numbers indicative of an outbreak? I recently had something going on with my hands that my doc told me was eczema, but I'm not so sure.

No the numbers are not an indication of how contagious you are or any indication of an imminent outbreak. Most people are infected with hsv1, so with those partners your hsv1 infection won't matter. I would encourage you to disclose your hsv1 status with anyone before performing oral sex on them. Some may disagree with me, but I feel if the shoe were on the other foot and you were hsv1 negative, you would definitely want to know whether your oral partner was hsv1 positive and then make any decision with complete knowledge.
