Confused

I met with my doctor today to discuss my equivocal test result. I asked why it was stated with certainty I have the virus as oppose to retesting. I was told in some communities 50% of ppl are carrying it. Also, if I were to approach potential mates about it, they may deny having it because ppl do not get tested. I asked why I was tested and the reply was they do it to know if ppl are spreading things. This is a private doctor and one who has made me comfortable, but I feel like I'm missing something. We discussed that I can retest in a couple months, but he's not familiar with the WB. I haven't had an outbreak and I'm kinda at ease with whichever way this goes, but I don't want to carry on as if I'm a contagious person when I may not be. Is this familiar to anyone, was the doc so nonchalant? It was made to seem like everyone has it.

Your negative and the equivical would be 1.2. over 1 is the key number. Retest if you wish but you are a clear negative and testing at  4-5 months would be around 2.5 if you were infect infected.

It was for HSV 2. I thought from the readings it said the count will increase the longer you have it and the more your body builds immunity. The doctor said it always stays the same. The doc said because it wasn't .90 or below that I was pretty much positive and to go on with my life as normal as I can.

was this for hsv1 and hsv2 individual? If you had a .96 thats not equivical its negative and who ever is giving you information that it will rise is very inaccurate.

If I even have it. It was like, Pretty much go ahead and live with this even tho the test isn't confirming or denying infection.

It was the IGG at .96 and my last encounter was 4-5months ago. I was told my count would not increase and I could have had this since my first sexual encounter. So now I'm really confused, I thought (from reading) the count increases as u have it longer.
