Herpes testing

I recently had a brief (30-60sec) genital to genital encounter with another man. Although he claims to be disease free, I am concerned about herpes.  Assuming I do not develop symptoms in the next two weeks, I still want to be tested so I can be sure. I've read conflicting reports on blood tests, like IgG, specifically on false positives. How accurate are they?  Again assuming no symptoms develop, how comslusive would a negative test be at 6 weeks?

You need to wait 12 weeks for conclusive testing. Low false positives are not rare so you need to take that into account. What exactly was your exposure? You may not need testing. Probably dont.

Brief genital to genital contact for about 30-60sec.  No visible sores on him and he claims to be STD free.
You didn't get hsv this way. If it were me I would never test after such a no risk exposure.
