should i retest??? and whats the chamces of false negatives

Hello everyone im an 20 year old african american male , live a very healthy lifestyle . About a few months ago i think participated in a very risky Encounter with a girl i met through social media . Etc we hung out a couple times nothing major until after a few weeks she came over and we ended up having "skin to skin contact or frottage however u want to say it she was grinding naked on my bare penis for a good 2 minutes and i rubbed on her for about 30 seconds but no sex or oral intercourse whatsoever. A few weeks after the encounter i been with no other girls after but that one encounter and had a range of symptons that had me worried but went away. I had run down feelings, lack of appetite, swollen lymph nodes in neck, sore throat,burning/prickling sensation on penis and testicles, buttocks, anus, thighs, and a buzzing/palpitation feeling in feet and scrotum. As i looked up these symptons i instantly got worried and broke down crying seeing that the internet leads to herpes hsv2. So about two weeks after i seen my doctor and she suggested herpes as well which had me angry as hell/sad. I got tested at quest 1 month post exposure and got a negative? But positive hsv1 i had cold sores as a kid. Im just worried if i tested to early and if im still experiencing all prodrome symptons just the tingling on my penis and buzzing/timgling feet still bothers me regarding The negative test.

Your welcome. I will tell you this. I've been doing this for awhile. I've never had someone with symptoms like you describe test positive for hsv.

It's sounds as though re-testing at 3 months will ease your mind. What she's telling you is you had virtually no risk before you tested .. Especially in the absence of lesions and sores .

If it were me I wouldn't retest. Your lack of true hsv symptoms and extremely low odds would be enough for me to move on. You of course can test and it will probably be worth the peace of mind. If you want to test then do so at 12 weeks from exposure.
Now, as far as the new girl you want to be with. If this were me knowing what I know. I would not hesitate to have a protected relationship with her. I honestly believe hsv is not realistic in this case and my advice is to move on.

Ok, I will try to put your mind at ease. Even if your partner had hsv2, the odds of you contracting it in the manner you describe is slim to none. If you had Intercourse (unprotected) the odds are 1 in a 1000. Now skin to skin contact like you describe is possible to transmit the virus but HIGHLY unlikely!!
As far as your symptoms go. They are not herpes related, that I can assure you. Asymptotic infections exist and they are void of symptoms. The symptoms you describe in the absence of lesions don't happen. That's the great world wide misinformation of the context of hsv symptoms. Prodrome symptoms happen when the virus is crawling along the nerve path back to the surface. Within a day or two you would get an outbreak of lesions. Just like your swollen neck lymph nodes...etc. wrong area!!! You would have swollen groin lymph nodes. Sore throat, run down... nope
Listen, bottom line stop testing the odds of you having hsv is astronomically low. Your stress is the only enemy here.
Hope this helps a bit.
