Freaking out! Herpes question!

Hello,
I am a little panicky at the moment. Last night, when I was at a grocery store, I saw a old friend who I greeted by touching the right side of my right hand on his elbow. So, I wondered why he did that, and asked him and he told me that he had cold sores "herpes". I got very concerned. I saw that he was infected and that he had showed skin pimple or whatever it was with a cream over it near his mouth. I went to the washroom right away, washed my hand, came home, threw my shirt in the garbage, and showered. I did not touch my face at all. I'm so pissed because I'm thinking I might become exposed to herpes now by touching him. What are my chances?

Your chances are absolutely zero. Even if he touched the sore then you seconds later. His elbow was safe and so are you. You can put this event out of your mind.
