Tested positive for HSV2

I recently got tested for HSV 1 and 2 at a clinic. My most current sexual history is:

Married in 2006
Tested for everything (including hsv 1 and 2) during pregnancy in 2009 all negative
Tested again in 2010 for everything while looking into tubal ligation, and husband leaving for another partner (we were together twice after he started sleeping with her) everything negative.
late 2011 had sex with one person one time (used protection)
and in 2012 new partner who ended up having a pretty bad outbreak in his throat. We though he had strep. The dr tested to see if he had type 1 or 2 and it came back positive for 1 and negative for 2

I tested positive for 2 with an igg of >5 and negative for 1 with an igg of 5 but everyone I've been with since my last test is negative.

also did your ex husband ever retest? do you know if his herpes testing was at least 3 months after he last had sex with his other partner?

never hurts to get a confirmatory test when you haven't had any obvious symptoms.

I think maybe doing the WB is my best bet at this point. Will it be hard to get a Dr. to do it with an igg that high?

if he can get his exact test results to post here, I can make sure they did the right blood testing. all he has to give to you are the numeric results - e.g. hsv1 igg 8.9 and hsv2 igg .34 or whatever they are.

you can also seek out a herpes WB blood test to confirm your own status too just for more peace of mind.

Ok. I heard from him today, they did a swab and blood draw and both only came back positive for 1. Thanks for helping. This is still very confusing.

a hsv2 igg of over 5 usually is a true positive.  your most recent partner should look more into his testing and go from there.
