Hi
I am new here, so hello if you are reading this, its nice to meet you.
I am looking for help with a problem my 21 year old daughter has had for about 2 years.
She passes out during/straight after exercise, she also feels faint at other times with no pattern, and passes out with no pattern obvious.
She was on the combined oral contraceptive pill but after a visit to the clinic was taken off immediately due to seriously high blood pressure.
She has had blood tests and all was fine, she has had a 24hour blood pressure which was a little low but ok, she has had a ECG and her heart was fine, she has been given a prescription from the hospital for pills to raise her blood pressure for the short term and hopes that she will grow out of it.
We did not want to take the pills as we don't think it is an answer.
And after another visit to the clinic recently she was told her BP was way too high again (glad she isn't on the pills to raise her blood pressure even higher), and yet today at a lecture she felt faint and passed out (Low blood pressure?)
It all seems very up and down, either too high or too low? I thought exercise raised your heart rate not lowered your BP but I am not an expert.
The hospital now want to do a treadmill test which she is dreading as she always faints on the treadmill, but she will go as we have to see if we can find any answers.
She is a healthy weight, eats well, always has breakfast, lunch and dinner and is not on any other medication.
Does anyone here have any idea what could be the problem??
Thanks so much in advance.
xxx
