High AST (SGOT) and LDH? why ?

Hello! Im a 22 year old male that is in shape and is looking to start a career in firefighting. I recently went for a my physical, confident that everything would come back fine. Unfortunately, my blood test came back and my LDH was 441 out of range from 121-224 and my AST (SGOT) was 96 out of range from 0-40. I have not been experiencing any symptoms of any sort. My urine and stool come out normal color and usual smell and no pain nor swelling in kidneys or liver. I do drink a couple times during the week but nothing excessive. Also, I had a blood test (comprehensive metabolic panel) 7 days prior to the fire dept physical which the doctor told me it came back normal. How can this number be so high in a matter of 7 days ? I don't take any medications either or come in contact with anyone so i doubt its hepatitis. I had a Hepatitis panel done mid December so it cant possibly be hepatitis.Could this be a lab error? Please anyone give me some insight to my situation.

Yes! that makes a lot of sense. I was extremely sore that day lol. I will have a repeat blood test just to have a confirmation and thank you

Elevated LDH can be caused by a number of things, some of which aren't very nice so please keep working with your doctor to track in all down. But what caught my eye was that both your LDH and AST levels have spiked without much else. And you're pursuing firefighting as well (very glad there are people like you!), so I'm guessing you've likely been very actively physically training in preperation? Both AST and LDH can be elevated due to the tissue damage that comes with strenous muscular activity and so leading to the isolated spikes. I hoping that this is the cause for the isolated elevations, something simple. Good luck and keep in touch wifh your doctors.
