It depends on the collagen supplement whether it will be assimilated or not, but if you don't need it, it will never be assimilated.  Collagen supplements aren't created equal.  But at your age, the best thing you can do is stay away from all protein supplements, shakes, etc.  They're just sugar, and you don't need the extra energy boost.  Just eat well, eat lots of colored vegetables for antioxidants, and research the nutrients the body uses to make collagen, including vitamin C.  As to the synthetic nature of collagen supplements. most supplements are synthetic.  There's no vitamin C floating around out there freely, now is there?  Amino acids often work as supplements, but they're all manufactured synthetically.  Same with melatonin.  In food, nutrients work in synergy; isolated as supplements, they don't.  But at your age, the most important thing is to stay flexible and not overwork yourself.  Shao Lin monks are vegetarians who often live off of begging and rice, but they didn't need collagen to become strong and they didn't do a lot of protein, but they did pretty well at martial arts, no?  It's because they perfected the movements, and learned them slowly, over many years, so they didn't overdo it.  Good luck to you.

It's Important before your workout to eat energizing carb. They should be low glycemic carbs.
High fiber cereals, breads and most veggies metabolize slowly, helping you burn more fat
as much as 55% while you work out find British researchers. Go for whole grains and produce
and avoid refined foods and sweetened drinks, which spike blood sugar and produce higher concentrations of circulating glucose and insulin that inhibits fat burning. Low  glycemic foods
also produce hormones that suppress hunger. After your workout go for foods loaded with protein, such as Greek yogurt, fat free milk, egg whites, and peanut butter. The protein helps rebuild muscles.

The answer to your question is a big - NO.

The reason that collagen supplements do not work as desired by us is that the collagen found in collagen supplements and collagen pills is unable to assimilate itself in the complex matrix of collagen that is present in our body.
The only problem with liquid collagen and collagen supplements is that they are all synthetic in nature. Therefore they do not mix too well with the pure collagen that has all the benefits Keep in mind that pure collagen can only be produced naturally by the body. No injection, supplements or pill could ever replace the pure collagen that the body produces.

It is really a pity to see millions of dollars of hard earned consumer's money going into the pockets of unscrouplous collagen supplement manufacturers. All this is happening because the consumers did not do their adequate research on the scientific reality of these collagen supplements.

sorry for being a bit rude i just usually get replied right away on other forums but anyways heres my question

im a 21 year old male and im doing alot of training for martial arts and also trying to build very strong and toned body. Now i herd alot of hype about collagen and that it is used for rebuilding body tissue like tendons bone muscles and much more, however all i find is recomendations for older people, mostly seniors. So my question is for my age i know my bodys collagen is still prety high however what im wondering is could i use collagen supplement to rebuild my tendons and bones while training or is this not good for me ??  Im kinda lost the health food store didint know anything about the fact if young adults take it to strengthen tendons and to  build a stronger more flexible body, all they could tell me is that seniors usually take this for lack of collagen in there systems due to age and osteoartheritis and things like this.
Any information is very appreciated.

Thanks
