Did the friend use a thermometer? Internal temp. must be at least 145 degrees plus a 3 minute rest period.
You can't know the doneness of cooked pork by its color. Even very pink pork can be safe! But GROUND PORK needs to be 160 degrees. As does beef.

You'd already know unless you just finished dinner. The main disease of uncooked pork is trichinosis. Google it.
