cyberknife has over 40,000 patients under it's belt and uses a 'frameless' system meaning it's used in many cases (especially children) and anywhere tumors are in very sensitive positions (such as the spine) which is probablly why they are recommending it for you. If you have any reservations, ask them *why* they believe this is the best option for you. Bring a long a friend to help ask and remember questions.
There was a study awhile ago----having one node that is cancerous, there was a big benefit to having it removed.
Go for it. Really look into the cybernife. I had gamma knife on my brain and it was successful. They are similar I think. It zeroes in on just the node.
If I had it in one node I would seriously look into it.
Please keep us updated. I am very interested in the success of this.
Best of luck!
Which centers use cyberknifse also for ovarian cancer?
Sometimes they say it is useless to try because microscopically the illness will be still there.
But i would want to try it myself.
My 81 year old mother is starting her second round of chemo with Doxil. I have heard of the cyberknife and gammaknife treatments but don't know if they are recommended after all chemo or if her cancer can be eliminated. Would love to hear from anyone who has had this treatment.
