Congratulations. You did it!
I had my last chemo in October. I colored my hair and started wearing a pixie in public in about March. (That would be five months.) I attended a convention a little over six months after my last chemo, and my hair was short and curly but it had been styled/trimmed by then. It took a year to get to where my hair was "under control," by which I mean I had learned to blow dry it straight, which I preferred. Now it's pretty much the way it was before, and has been for several years. I think the hairdresser will tell you that hair grows about a half inch per month, and that's about what I experienced.
My cousin loved her post-chemo short hair, which she had never worn before. So try to approach it as an "adventure," if you can.
I've always been physically lazy, so I don't notice a lot of difference in energy/strength. It would have been wise for me to exercise because the steroids sure helped me gain weight, which I'm still trying to lose.
Congrats !! on your ca 125 and scans may your counts stay down and you stay NED forever.
Hugs and Prayers, Terry
Hi Mary,
Congratulations on the CA and the scan results! You can take a deep breath and relax now.
Your energy and your hair will take a few months, right now just be thankful that the chemo worked, you're a lucky gal!
Best wishes for good health from now on.
Jane
