Help from my friends

This has nothing to do with OVCA, but I need some brainstorming ideas, I monitor the Downs Syndrome  site on MH,  I ask you to go to the site and read the post from the Mother in Indonesia, because the states have given my son so many opportunities to grow to his potential,  I am trying to understand how to get help to those that are half a world away.  This is about 1 Mother that is asking for help, any ideas about what other avenues I could persue to aide her in her search?   I just try and imagine whatI I would do if I lived there, I  remember what it was like for other parents and myself when our children were young and we were fighting for opportunities for them,  we made it happen, but we did it as a group, is that what it takes?  any ideas are welcome.  Marty

Marty, I promise to look at this later and give you my thoughts.  I only have 9 days until I start chemo again and I have to get things done while I feel well considering they already told me I would have to have blood transfusions with this chemo.  Oncs don't like to tell you ANYTHING so if they are telling me that much, what else aren't they telling me?  I AM hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.
Love,
Jan
PS  I am glad you are back. The forum isn't quite the same without you.

Hi Marty, I tried to send you an email about this but couldn't.  I agree with you.  Mainstreaming is a good idea.  Since I don't have any personal experience with DS, I think writing to the WHO was a good idea.

Maybe you could open up your profile to accept ideas there?

Take care,
L
