ca-125 went up

hi, I wrote earlier that 10 mos ago I had a laporoscopy and the found endometriosis and cysts wrapping around my fallopian tubes. They removed the fallopian tubes and got rid of as much endo as possible, no cancer was found. For the last few months I have been having pain especially on left side. A vaginal ultrasound was done and they found a 4 cm simple cyst on right side and 2.5 complex cyst that can not be ruled benign on left side. At the time of the laporoscopy my ca-125 was 45 now my ca-125 is up to 67. Should I be concerned.

I have read in one journal article (don't have it to hand but try google scholar search) that CA125 in the range 30 to 100 was being considered as one indicator of endometriosis. So perhaps this just indicates that your endo is back or that perhaps the cyst is an endometrioma (cyst with endometriosis / blood inside). Perhaps see if others on the cyst forum had andometrioma's and whether they had elevated CA125's.
Definitely follow up - however with the good results last time I would be happy and confident if I was you that all is good this time too.

Hi Kandi,
What does your doctor say, is he concerned about the CA  going up. Maybe a scan is in order to have a look at your abdominal organs.
Since you thankfully have not been diagnosed with cancer, why don't you try the MedHelp cyst forum to see what those ladies have to say.
Good luck,
Jane
