I'm in need of some useful advise and some help answering the questions i'm driving myself crazy over!

Ok, so i woke up Sunday morning feeling horrible. I had fever, felt nauseous and had  terrible pain in my abdomin. As the day progressed it got worse, to the point where i couldn't stand up straight, sitting down hurt, standing up hurt and it hurt while i wasnt moving at all. On the following day, Monday, i went to my doctor who thought i was experiecing appendicitous. He sent me to the emergency room to have a CT scan and it was not appendicitous it was an ovarian cyst that had burst. I followed up the next day, Tuesday, and he did an ultrasound and told me i had alot of fluid in my pelvous and to come back in 2 weeks to make sure everything was back to normal. Well with my luck and finishing off my week with a bang...I was involved in a car accident 2 days later on Thursday. The other guys truck was totaled and mine is close to it, if they decide not to total it, this accident was just yesterday evening. Now on Friday im experiencing fever of 99.9-101.3 and im checking it every few minutes thinking its my thermometer but im coming up with the same results. I feel horrible and am having fever and i haven't had fever in connection with the cyst bursting since early Wednesday. So my concern is, can what im experiencing now, the fever, fatigue, headache, body aches and weakness be related to the cyst problem i had earlier this week and could my car accident irritated it enough for me to go to the emergency room? Also, could the car accident have caused more problems with the fluid still in my pelvic area, and could i be having fever cause it has injured me further? I need help! I dont know if im loosing my mind because stress is getting the best of me, or if i really do have a medical emergency on my hands! Please help me, any ideas or thoughts will help tremendiously! Thank you...

Thank you so much for the advice! I never really thought about infection due to the cyst! When I went to my gyno he made it seem like a normal thing women go thru and I've got no need for serious worrying! He never mentioned a possibility of infection or to watch out for signs of it! You have helped me tremendously, thank you!

If it were me, I think I would go to the ER or urgent care if my temp was 101 or higher.  It is possible that you have developed an infection because of the cyst rupturing.  This may have happened without the accident factored in or it may be that the trauma from the accident weakened your system enough that you weren't able to keep from developing the infection.  It is also possible that there was some damage done due to the accident that is not related to the cyst.  If the fever is low, I'd wait until morning and call my doctor.  If it is 101 or higher, I would go ahead and get checked out right away.  Hope this helps.

So sorry to hear things are going so bad for you.  I don't really know what to say and I don't have any advice as I don't know much about ovarian cysts (just getting informed myself).  But I do send best wishes your way, and perhaps you should go to your doctor or emergency if you are concerned.  Maybe it will ease your mind.
