Question for ovary cyst veterans

Hey so I am trying to tackle why I am having continuing pain in my left pelvic area 7 months after surgery. The pain is similar to before. However I recently found out I lost a big chunk of my ovary after tge cyst was removed. I found this out by doing my own investigation Gyno never told me.

Symptoms:
sharp stabbing pains in left abdominal area. Sometime quick jabs or pain can last 30 seconds.
A couple instances when the pain has basically knocked the breath out of me
the pain has become more frequent in the last month and added lower back pain starting in the spine and sacrum and ratiating to the sides.
Periiods are much much lighter than prior to surgery. I have a half day of spotting half day of light flow and a day of spotting/extremely light flow only exsistent when going to the bathroom. (not pregnant)
gained weight and increased breasts since surgery as well (again not pregnant)

I had a ultrasound in July and November that were normal. So no cysts. My Gyno wants to do exploratory surgery but I don't want to take the time off work ( trying to save for future children)

my right ovary is small 2.5 x 1.3 x 1.4. - volume is 2.38 cm3 or 2.38 mL (no surgery to this one)
my left ovary is  even smaller 1.7 x 1 x 0.9 - volume is 0.8 cm3 or 0.8 mL ( cyst removed from inside)

tge measurements were from my July ultrasound. I am waiting for the measurements from my most recent one to compare.

here are my questions:
anyone who has lost a significant amount of the ovary have continued pain after surgery?
Any ideas what else it could be?

Should I request blood work? A CT? I'm on birth control to have been for years.

Any ideas? I meet with the Gyno on Friday I want to cover all possibilities.

I have not been through this myself but another person had her ovary reconstructed after cyst removal and it still pained her months after the fact. Ovaries apparently still function even after being reduced in size. Sometimes even when we don' t want them to work. Ovarian Remnant Syndrome occurs after ovary removal. It is rare but for some if even a piece of an ovary is left behind after surgery, it can behave like a full ovary and become cystic all over again. I guess the cells are delicate enough that a surgeon can have trouble removing them all. My point is that your ovary can still function even if no longer its original size, but it can produce pain if it had surgery on it. The healing seems to take longer than expected. Of course it could be another cyst forming, hopefully not.

Got my report for the ultrasound that was 2 weeks ago.

Right ovary measured: 2.7 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm
left ovary measured: 1.7 x 0.7 x 0.17 cm

however I think the left ovary is a typo. I think it should be 0.7 cause I thought that is what isaw hand written before the changes were made to the report.

To me my left ovary is neverending shrinking. It doesn't seem normal. Could my left ovary be done?
