new to this forum and need answers

I have had abdominal pain for quite some time now, as well as pelvic pain (basically pain feels like its all over) I have also had discharge from my vagina and have gone to my physician atleast 10 times within about 3 months and my GYNO twice and went to Planned Parenthood just yesterday where she looked into my cervix did a routine exam and testing I didnt really feel anything when I was being pressed on my and of the doctors (where they touch your stomach and pelvic area all over) but I do feel it at home or when I am out all the time. I am having some lower back pain and thighs have been hurting a little in the inside I also have been having a lot of gas and very very soft stools recently. I am on birth control and have been for a while but there has been about a month or 2 where I stop for a little. I am so scared this is a cyst and that It could cause harm or be cancerous. I just thought about that it could be a cyst when I started looking up things on it online. No one has mntioned a cyst to me I have been to my physician a lot of times, my OBGYN twice recently and planned parenthood and also a Gastro Int. doc. twice recently also. I am sooo scared and I want to just cry I do not know what id wrong with me and I am only 20 years old. I need help, :( I told my mom and I feel like I am always complaining so now I try not to complain but I really don't know what to do anymore. The pain is not unbearable (maybe because I have gotten used to it but I really don't kow :( I don't want to die. Is there anyone that can help me or put some insight on this? My mom says she will call for an ultrasound to be done and call tmw. In the mean time I want to go to my physician again and tell her everything since I can't see my OBGYN again till August 11th which is the appoitment. wow I am totally going crazy and I really think I am going to die. I am only 20. Can these cysts be missed in a pelvic exam? are they usually missed or found? I am so scared.

I have also been having yellowish discharge is this normal? abnormal? related to cysts? I keep doing tests for this and it seems to come back negative for STDs and my pap smear was normal...

Wow I appreciate you guys sooo much you have no idea and my symptoms sound consistant to Linny's. Linny I have had a complete work up done and the doctor says everything seems fine. I have also had a lot of blood tests done for different things and she says all of them have come back negative. I just hate not knowing what is wrong with me you know? its such a bad feeling. No I havent had any vomitting and I don't think I have had fever either. I am always hot when I go to bed but iuts summer and I usually sweat a lot anyway so I don't think thats anything else. I told my mom about both and I want to get both the abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and the transvaginal ultrasound too. I feel like I am being ignored by my physician now because I keep going back there over and over again. but I don't know where to go anymore? I feel bad I am annoying to everyone but I am stuck. I am going to try and call my GYN today and see if they have anything earlier and now I am thinking the date I set is when I am going to have my period. so hopefully they can just squeeze me in or maybe someone will cancel. I really just want answeres. thank you all once again.

cutipup100,
If you have fever and vomiting, then immediately go to ER, otherwise 11th Aug appointment with OBGYN  is just fine.
Fever and vomiting is sign of twisted ovary/ torsion, which is serious.

Oh yeah I forgot a few symptoms,
Gas and my bowel movements are very irregular (sometimes constipated, sometimes loose). If you are having loose movements alot make sure you drink lots of gatorade so you don't get dehydrated.

Hey,
I actually had my transvaginal done in the obgyn's office. Believe me, I have gone through so many tests and am very frustrated also. Whatever you do, don't go to the ER unless you really have to, because they misdiagnosed me there and basically will tell you anything you want to hear to get you out of there.I am 27 trying to work and go to school and plan a wedding while feeling like I do, so I know exactly how you feel. Ummm..my symptoms are swollen abdomen, really bad cramping, irregular periods (even though I am on the pill), having to pee all the time, nausea, and weird leg pain. They told me that I have irritable bowel and that was what was causing this until they found the cyst. (They missed the cyst with the first ultrasound they did in March). Everything just makes more sense. But it may not hurt keeping a journal of what you eat. Try to avoid milk, spicy foods, caffeine, etc...and see if you feel anybetter. Alot of times a cyst can mimic other disorders, so I know that you don't want to hear this, but its a process of elimination. Thats what I have been dealing with. If you are getting really really bad abdominal pain then I would go to the hospital. My parents told me it was stress also. Stress does do weird things to your body, but some things are not always caused by stress. I've had a bad summer too because I have felt like this. I would tell the doctor that you want both an an abdominal ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound. Also have a complete blood work done up. They have not removed the cyst on my ovary yet. They are playing the wait game with me too. I don't go until sept 3rd for another ultrasound to see if the the birth control I am on has shrunk the cyst, but I don't think I can wait that long either. Feel better and any more questions or if you just want to talk, I am here!

Hi Maggie and all: thanks for helping this nice lady out, I learn a lot by just reading posts that may or may not pertain to me right now. This is a great community!

I was wondering if there was such a thing, too, like a pap smear that to find out how thick the uterine lining is for example that you can have done vs. going in and doing surgery to find out what is going on or doing a D & C? We are looking at both the ovaries as well as uterine lining.
