Dating a guy who is afraid to drive to my home.

I have been dating this guy for about 3 months, we live about 40 minutes apart and across the Ohio River. He has not been able to travel from his home to my home because it causes panic attacks. Is there anything I can do for him? I really like him and have already made the mistake once of allowing that to come between us, and don't want to let that get the better of me. If I can't actually help him help himself, then how can I understand what effect this has on his life, and what he goes through?
