Awesome thanks girls! I really think this made up my mind on breastfeeding! Shyloveskai and purplenacho I hope everything goes good for you with breastfeeding! Best of luck ladies!
I have never breastfed yet, but I plan to once my baby is born. I'm going to because I think it's the best thing for both me and him. Gives baby the right nutrients and I hear it's great bonding time plus it burns calories. Just hope it's not as painful as some say lol. So I really hope I'll be able to. :)
Pros: nutrition, bonding, feeling of accomplishment, easier than prepping a bottle
Cons: takes dedication, practice makes perfect, bad latching can lead to extremely painful nipples.
From my personal experience, i tried to breastfeed my daughter, i got discouraged because she had a bad latch and my nipples cracked and bled, since i had no help or advice i gave up and pumped milk. When i realized i wanted to nurse directly i became too nervous to try again and i gave up altogether after 1 month. I deeply regretted stopping after. Now that im having my second and LAST baby i know i wont give up or feel awkward with trial and error, i cant wait for the bonding experience and ive watched a lot of videos about proper latching, treatment and prevention of cracked nipples. Im so excited this time around. Ill be avoiding the pump unless i need to do it for some reason. (nothing wrong with pumping at all, i just depended on the pump with my first baby) :)
I am pro breastfeeding but I also breastfed my daughter past a year old. There are so many benefits for you an baby and really the best start you can give your little one.
