Using Hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash?

Hi, I'm 5 months pregnant, and I've got this really nasty blister type thing on the inside of my lower lip. It's a pain. I've had them before.

I tried swishing some Hydrogen Peroxide around in my mouth. I did two parts Hydrogen peroxide ,and two parts water. It tasted awful and chalky. And I was scared about swallowing it. Although I'm pretty sure I spit all of it out, and I must have rinsed my mouth out a billion times after that.

Sorry straying from original question. My question is does anyone know of any other ways to get rid of this? My Father mentioned using Salt water.

Also, Is it safe to continue using the diluted Hydrogen Peroxide as mouthwash? I don't think I'll continue with that seeing as how I'm paranoid about swallowing it, It also has this awful chalky taste.

Yeah. The Hydrogen Peroxide is 3% And, the amount I was used was diluted.

Not worrying about it. But, I'm going to try the Salt water.

Thanks.

hydrogen peroxide, as long as it's diluted with water, is safe and fine to use.  Even ask your doctor.  Salt water would work better, or they actually sell stuff for your mouth to get rid of canker (sp?) sores, and blisters and all that.

There is somthing similar to oragel that is good for it.  Ask a pharmacist, and they can point it out in the store, since i'm drawing a blank on the name.

i would not suggest using hydrogen peroxide in your mouth again. i would certainly suggest warm water with salt as a mouth wash. also, you can now find mouth washes without alcohol in them which will help keep the germs at bay. i would say do the salt water and try to not to pick at it with your tongue. sores in your mouth should heal quickly as long as they are left alone. but i would not suggest the peroxide again at all. hope your mouth feels better soon.
