I moved around a lot but then made the mistake of laying in the bed and that made contractions so much more intense so keep active, just keep reminding yourself you got through the last contraction and you can get through another one, if at any point you feel it's to much get the epidural there is NO shame in that I have never had one but I hear they are great lol good luck mama
I'm 9 days away this is my 3rd baby all natural. What helps is the shower water running down your back or something warm like a heating pad. Walking, rotating hips sude to side, Breathing through the contractions and mental focus on seeing your precious baby in your arms. It is a beautiful process you'll do great.
Different positions as in during the early part of labour thinks like walking, leaning on your partner or midwife and swinging your hips gently I've heard helps. Also sometimes lying forward on your knees helps to put everything in balance. And you can also find online a lot of great birthing positions and you will find what you feel best in, i for example know that I will most likely feel most comfortable in a kneeling leaning forward onto something position best for me during the stronger contractions and then pushing, but everyone is different, that's why its good to have a few and see what works best for you. If you can get hold of a diffuser you would put the oils in there to diffuse around the room, they are very good for calming you and keeping you relaxed and in a good state of mind and also then helps your body to go about what it needs to do the best it can without interruptions.. The ones I mentioned have been suggested to me, ones my mother used and are known for their benefits in labour and birth.
I've heard many moms say it's not as bad as your mind makes it out to be. And when it's over you can't really remember the pain. But awesome on doing it natural.
I wanted to try natural until my bf showed me videos from youtube: /
Great choice on all natural! It's going to hurt but it is completely doable. Women have done it for centuries. What helped me go all natural was pure determination to not get any drugs that would lessen the experience and affect my baby. Anything you take goes to the baby. Mantras helped to... Saying I am strong j am capable my body was made for this. And scriptures... I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength. My husband rubbed my back with essential oils and was by my side the whole time. Make sure your coach is prepared to help you. Read up on the Bradley method and I love ina Mae gaskin too! Good luck and God bless! It's the most empowering experience you will ever have!
I remember i liked the birthing ball with my first. Also stay active as long as possible while I was walking around I progressed more. Wiyh my daughter I wasnt really prepared so I had no music or any relaxing techniques but this time around im trying hypnobirthing reading into it right now. Basically you just have to tell yourself you can do it you will do it and it will get done. Prepare yourself mentally because I remember around 8cm physically I wanted to be done with it but my mentality was the only thing that kept me going. Stay strong and goodluck.
Thank you I'll keep that in mind:)
Calming music and people who understand when and if you need quiet time. Also soaking in warm water helps. Also just telling yourself that contractions do hurt but will be over soon. I feel it helps to talk yourself through the contractions.
What do you mean by positions and supports? And what exactly do I use the oils for. Sorry I'm new at all of this.
Have a variety of positions and supports to help cope with the contractions, also good to use them for a good birthing position. Essential oils: lavender, frankisence, peppermint. Also good to pick some calming music you like and start listening to it the week before your due for you and baby to get used to it. Low light is essential to keep you calm and relaxed so your body can produce endorphins and other important things for labour and birth. Walking around during the first part of labour is sometimes helpful or having a bath, the water is soothing and good for pain relief, (I am planning a water birth) hope this helps :) good luck
