Mucous plug

When is it normal to lose it? I'm 38 weeks and haven't lost mine or have I started the effacing or dilating process. Just curious when it's normal or a general time for it to happen. Don't wanna be induced lol

I hope so because I had a 3d ultrasound and he's a chunky one haha. 8 pounds already looks like his daddy and is completely ready to come out. Now I'm waiting on my body to do its thing. When they measured his head his size was 39+3. Just hoping he waits till after friday(my birthday) and for his dad to be back from working out of town.

it doesn't always come out intact, it could come out bit by bit, which is just clear, stringy, and mucus-like. almost like snot (gross I know). But it could be possible that you're losing it, or have lost parts of it already without really noticing. If not, then it's still possible for you to lose yours. Some times, you will lose your plug only a couple weeks, days, or hours prior to labor. So your time could still come. Just keep an eye out! I don't believe there's a general time when they usually come, I lost mine at 26 weeks due to preterm labor, dilated 1 cm, and I believe either mine has regenerated as they do, or it's still been gone this whole time, but I'm now 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced at 36 weeks an 5 days. Good luck! You're time is coming soon!
