HELP!! Chlamydia

My BF of 4 years went to the ER for an injury. There they disclosed he has chlamydia.. He told me he was diagnosed a year before we met and never got treatment. I recently had a baby in January and they do all the pre screening before, at 35 weeks and also the hospital and I came out Negative those times and the hospital never told me i was positive either. We haven't has protected sex in years.I have an upcoming check up and will see if i am positive.. My question is this, If i come out positive, it has to be because he was exposed to it recently, right? or can it be dormant and not be transmitted and then he had a flare up and it reactivated somehow? (which i highly doubt). Please help! i can't wait until my Doctor's visit!

STDs are actually known because of being able to "hibernate" inside the body, without giving symptoms, even for years. If you have been exposed to chlamydia, any test 3 weeks after the exposure will be accurate.
