Dear Doctors,
My husband (70 yr old) has sleep apnea and has used a CPAP for several years.
Lately, I've noticed that his breathing has changed and he has episodes of rapid, shallow breathing during sleep and sometimes when resting after waking up. At that time, his adams apple moves up during exhale.
Could his CPAP be set too strong (it's at 9)?
(Also, he has recently been diagnosed with slow-progressing cerebellar atrophy. Could this have something to do with it?)
I'd appreciate any insight you can give me.
