thank you very much for your reply, I have a long list of stuff going on and I dond want to hound you all. I've been to every dr and had all types of tests done and nothing. I'm at my wits end about everything and I'm afraid I'm gonna feelike this for the rest of my life and I'm only 27 yrs old
Hi, welcome to the forum, usually more than one factor is responsible for insomnia. This usually includes mental and physical Causes.
Mental causes are
- Anxiety, which is sense of insecurity.
- Depression associated with sadness and lack of initiation.
- Stress or mental pressure.
Physical Causes like
- Hormonal imbalance- sex steroids, hypothyroidism
- Deficiency or decreased turn over of melatonin
- Cancer and infection esp. when associated with pain.
Sometimes genetic factors are involved.
Other temporary causes are
- Jet lag which seen due to air travel esp. traveling across wide time zones.
- Sleep shift disorder- Working the night shift or long shifts.
- Certain medications.
- Caffeine and alcohol.
