sleepy and heavy all the time !

Hi,
I am an athlete, sport person, and have early morning practices at 6am (which goes on for 2hours plus) every alternate day and I gym on other days in the afternoon for one hour. it has been one week since i feel sleepy most of the time during the day.
I follow a healthy diet of 4-5 meals a day and have a good intake of protein and carbohydrates and vitamins.
for example i sleep 12-15 hours a day including my  night sleep. 6 hours at night and maybe another two sets of 3 hours sleep  during the day.!
it is very unusual for me since my body has become heavy.
could you kindly help me with this issue or shall I provide more information on my problem.
  looking for a fruitful reply,
Medrik,
age 21

thank you for the thought, i guess it was the quality of the sleep, i live in india currently based in chennai, as a foreigner its always difficult to adjust with the weather, and the recent days weather has not been good maybe that takes a lot on me, but last 2 days i have been quite comfortable and active  despite the hot weather.
thank you.

That is a lot of sleep - not sure if segmenting the times would make it any less refreshing. Since this has been of short duration (1 wk), my first thought would be a medical illness for which you may need evaluated by a physician and get some blood tests. For instance, high blood sugar can cause sleepiness, as can other things. If all the usual culprits are normal, you may want to consider a sleep study to see if for some reason your sleep quality is poor thus causing you to need greater quantity.
