What is the Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies range?

I'm looking for the range for the Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies test, as a way to see how bad my situation is. These are my recent lab results.

260 IU/ml  <9

Can anyone help me interrupt what this means? Just how bad is this?

You have hashi, but you can try to bring the TPO antibodies down by supplementing with selenium, zinc, magnesium, probioics and fish oil. Also get on a good diet, eliminate diary, white sugar and white flour from your diet. Eat lots of fresh food, fermented food and protein. Try to detox. Have your doctor check your vitamin D, iron panel, Vitamin and mineral panel, Free T3, Free T4, and TSH.  My TPO antibodies were above 100 I could bring them down pretty fast with diet and supplements, but my thyroglobulin antibodies were above 3,500 way high. I had to get on medicine.

Less-than 9 is the reference range for your TPOab.  In other words, 0-9 is within reference range, anything higher is  elevated.  Typically, elevated TPOab indicates you have Hashimoto's thyroiditis.  Hashi's is the most prevalent cause of hypothyroidism and is an autoimmune disease.  Your immune system sees your thyroid as foreign tissue and attacks it.

Don't be scared by the large number (260) in your result.  That's not at all unusual for antibody tests.  On diagnosis, my TPOab was 900+, and my TGab (the other Hashi's antibody) was 3,000+.  The test is basically either positive or negative, and actual numbers don't mean a lot.
