I am home now and have one precious day to catch up on housework (laundry, dishes, groceries, cooking, cleaning, dusting, changing sheets, etc) .. work on a garage sale (need to sell some things) .. and join you here on MedHelp later this evening.

My husband is a youth pastor, his father the senior pastor of a small inner city church. Our numbers may be few but our prayers are very passionate and strong. We've seen many miracles, specifically with cancer and healing.

So I'm going to put Kalista on our prayer chain and let everyone know. We'll be praying fervently for her. She has such a sweet, strong spirit, just from what I've read. She has a tough road ahead of her.

I hate cancer with a passion. I know God does, too. *HUGS* We'll be praying!!!

Magic Wand

Somehow "thank you" doesn't seem to adequately express the gratitude and warmth in my heart for your thoughts, prayers and friendship.  Your best wishes and caring hearts are such a blessing.

Tonight Kalista is feeling much better after receiving 4 units of blood and 1 unit of platelets.  Her color is better, her spirits are brighter and she just offered to share her new "tink" (Tinkerbell) blankie with her dad.  (A volunteer made it and brought it to the hospital .. it is warm and snuggly).  

Her dad just turned off the lights and the TV is on, the laptop illuminates a small corner of the room and one muted spotlight is over my head as I type.  Kalista just said, "this is cozy!"  

As we sit here amidst iv's, blood transfusing, balloons, stuffed animals and a room decorated with Sponge Bob decorations the social worker helped her siblings do .. there is a warmth and appreciation that she is remarkably better than she was .. and hope for her future.  We are blessed!

My prayers to Kalista and Ranae's entire family in this difficult time.  I have passed her situation along to all of the mighty prayer warriors that I am in contact with.  May swift healing power be with Kalista now and all of the days of her very long life to come.
