The recurrent ecoli infection needs to be treated and resolved prior to beginning and exercise program. In addition, with asthma, you need to have a doctor's release and/or instructions to begin an exercise program. It is important that you understand how exercise affects asthma as exercise can actually bring on an asthma attack. If you do not have adequate instructions and medications for both maintenance of your asthma and for emergency asthma attacks, you need to do so as soon as possible.
Once this is completed, Barb is correct that yoga is a very good low impact exercise. In addition, walking would be where you could begin but you should certainly watch out for any tightness in your chest, throat or asthma-like symptoms. Swimming is also a possibility, if approved by your doctor, and you should do so with someone else in attendance should you have any difficulty.
As far the ecoli, this does need to be resolved and may take a long course of antibiotics to resolve a stubborn recurrent infection. You may want to read up on hand washing techniques and be sure you are doing everything possible to avoid them. You doctor can also give you some recommendations on how to avoid the recurrent infections.
Hope you get well soon .. take care .. and welcome to the community.
Welcome to the community.
Try walking at a reasonable pace. Also look into yoga as it's low impact and done at a slow very deliberate pace.
Be sure to watch what you eat as well - might also help the e-coli infection.
