what is this lump on my vagina, its underneath the skin, and its painful

Okay so, the night before last i woke up around 3:45 am, i was hot and uncomftorable and i had to go to the bathroom. When i had gone to the bathroom there was nothing wrong, but when i was done i had taken my underwear off and my pj pants and just put shorts on... about a couple hours after i had woken up again (i have also been sick with a cold) and i had an itch "down there" so i went to itch and i felt a big lump... I have experienced ingrown hairs before, but i dont think thats what it is, i just shaved and its right at the top where your vagina lips meet, on the right side. A bunch of things have ran through my mind, like maybe i ripped a vein or a muscle right there.. or maybe i got bit by something right there. This might help, to put in your mind this lump is underneath the skin and its more long than it is round, its about the size of a dime stretched out, maybe a little bit smaller. Well as of this morning it has like a whitish circle on it, almost like a blister, but its not the whole thing its just one little spot on the lump. i want to try to pop it or something, its so painful and maybe if i do that it would take some pressure out of it.. So does anyone have any kind of idea??? you would be helping me out greatly.. p.s. i dont think its herpes, or warts, but if you think so, PLEASE tell me.

well it just so happened to be either a ingrown hair or a boil or something of that nature, it ended up popping on its own about a day and a half after it showed up. Just so you everyone knows, if you get something like i did, its better to just leave it alone and put some alcohol to it. As soon as i got it i could not leave it alone and as a result it was very painful, it wouldve not hurt so much if i left it alone.
Thank you everyone for getting to my post, i appreciate it.

From it's location and sudden onset, what you may have is an infected Skene's gland. Look this up and also "Skene's cyst" to see if it matches your condition. Good luck.

I know it can be a very scary thing to find bumps in your genital area but i know exactly what you are going through. I get a bump like that in the same spot nd everything and it is the most painful thing when you have to urinate and wipe but its probably just a boil. Mine always go away after about 2 or 3 days. If you pop it it will go away faster. But trust me it is going to hurt. I don't think it is anything to worry about since our bodies are ampted to get boils and pimpils anywhere including "down there". Just monitor it and if it stays for longer than 5 days you should probably see a dr. But it doesn't really sound that serious just yet.

It could very well be an STD, or it could be something as simple as a boil.  You really need to contact your GYN on this one, just in case it may be something a bit more serious.  It sounds like a boil to me.  Good luck and keep me posted.
