So after about 6 months of being clean from norcos/vic's I have been relapsing here and there:(  I feel so disappointed in myself......All that hard work to get off them and I threw it down the drain.  Depressed......

I wouldn't say all that hard work for nothing.  Don't sell yourself short, and don't forget about what milestones you have achieved up to this point.

So...you slipped.  No big deal.  Everyone does it.  Just get back up...dust yourself off, and get back on it!

Look at why you relapsed.....make a mental note of it....and do whatever it takes to avoid the situations that lead you to relapse.  Learn from it....instead of just proclaiming this experience to be a complete failure.

We all make mistakes.....it's weither or not you learn from your mistakes that counts.

Now...get up...dust yourself off....and get back on it!

i too relapsed after 4 months and im now picking meself up again same as a lot of people do on here. its good you are reaching out it means you want to stop. Every time you relapse you learn something new use this to you benefit and learn by your mistakes.

thanks everyone.....I dont really know what prompted me to use again.  Prolly just the feeling of boredom or depression and thinkin that it wouldnt lead to any kind of addiction again.  I havent been using heavily maybe 2 norcos a day.....Im back on the wagon tho and been clean for 24 hrs!!  Luckily with such limited use Im not having any real physical withdrawal its more of a mental withdrawal!  Thanks again for your support....I know I can stop again!

Hey I struggle to but getting right back on the wagon works for me if I allow myself any space I will take a mile. What is important is what you do now. No matter what don't use period.

I remember you.. glad to see you back but not under these circumstances.. you have not thrown away anything.. you still have that clean time you know it is possible.. most of us have a few relapses under our belt but the key is getting back up and trying again.. Use what you have learned to your benefit.. change things up if you did not go to AA NA counseling consider these things as it is very difficult to do without finding why the need to drug ourselves and carrying on without support.. it is so easy for us to forget how bad our lives have suffered through our addiction. stop now before it goes any further. we are all here to support you.. lesa

You made it 6 months before and you will again. Relapses are so tough, the guilt and shame that follow and the fact we just gave our addiction some life makes it even worse. This is the time to reach out like your doing and make changes necessary to keep this from happening again. Are you getting any type of aftercare and if not are you willing? I used to think after a few months clean I was home free, but that is what got me in trouble in the past. This is lifelong disease, but with abstinence are learning the tools to STAY clean, it's a heck of a lot easier. You can do this:)

Don't keep beating yourself up. Are you still using? What triggered you to use?
