30 days clean today

I am proad of myself. I still have crawling skin. My left eye is still blurry. My legs have got better. I think I have underlining issues. I did a blood test and it was fine. I will say to anyone who is on subs it will be a long road but ti can be done. Even after 30 days I still have some issues. But I have been on opiates for 15 years. And it will take time and support. I know one thing I will never, ever return to opiates and will do every thing to recover from the abuse I have put myself though. And btw find a doctor who really cares, dont trust a doctor who wants to put you on something for life.

That is great to hear! You should feel proud of yourself, for me personally Sub has been the hardest thing for me to get off. I was on Methadone 90mgs for 3 years and for me the Sub is harder to get off and everyday is a struggle. Thank you for sharing it brings me hope that I can stay off Sub to until I get my treatment.

I am very proad. I guess we all have the same expectations on how we should feel after a month. But I knew it would not be easy. I guess coming off 120 mg methodone and subs in the same year I did it the hard way. I used the subs to come off methodone which I guess was better in a way of tapering but it still took 7 months to do so. My body still has a long way to go my mind is ok but my body and underlinning things that now being 40 have to deal with. I will probly need glasses, And need to get in shape but hey my blood work came back fine dont have to worry about type 2 yet. And the blurry eyes might be coming off opiates still just have to give it time to tell. But I really am threw with opiates and I will nver go back no matter what. I will never get high off anything ever again. I can not put myself or family threw this ever agin. And no I have not been to any meeting since coming off avaerything but I went all the time before to train my mind and I have to keep doctor appts to see if any of this is me or the opiates. I will be taking care of bad blood flow to my legs soon. Think the plane ride to hawaii last year or bed detox caused a blood clot.

I also took opiates for 13 years at very high doses. I am close to my year anniversary and I found that around 30 days the fog really started to lift. I had a noticeable difference in how I felt for the better. You are VERY close to turning a corner and you will feel the difference soon. Congrats on your clean time...no matter how you feel now, you have to have such a sense of accomplishment and that alone is worth it....keep it up!!

Way to be mitch!  I'm at 27 days clean after 12 years on the methadone program.  I went cold turkey while I was doing 40 mgs.  I can relate to what you've gone through and are going through.  Prior to my methadone addiction I was on Oxys for 13 years!  Keep positive and move forward to a wonderful wake up call!...All my best...marc

Awesome Mitch!!! Ya be proud of yourself, you should be.  I am 43 days today and I am still having similar issues.  I have been using opiates for just over 27yrs.  Had a 13yrs. addiction to benzos and I am a life long alcoholic (non-practising)  I'm 54yrs. old  I am daily reminding myself that I
didn't do this damage in a month or two so I should just cool it with the impatients.  I am eager to get my brain back to how I think it should be.

I dig what Kyle preaches....Life clean is wonderful yes....and so much easier to deal with real B.S. now.......(a gift)

Keep on killin it friend!
Peace and hope.

Many congratulations...I too used for over 15 years (after coming off of alcohol - another 15 years wasted). As I'm sure you're aware, the more time clean, the less withdrawal symptoms you'll have.
And both of us face a life long struggle - our addict's minds will never stop, but the longer we're clean, the easier it is to manage the "voice".
30 days is quite a benchmark; you should be very proud of what you've done and what you're doing. Life clean is wonderful.
Again, congratulations - now on to day 60!
