methadone or suboxone

So I'm sick and tired if being sick and tired ... I've been on foxy for about 3 years and now I'm up to about 280mg a day of this crap.... i went to an addiction centre and signed up and was given the option of methadone or suboxone..... i can't take anymore time off work and cold turkey it.... I've done it more times then i could count and failed overtime... I'm broke, tired and need my life back.... so the big question is what is better for that high of dose ? I've heard subs is easier to get off and methadone is almost impossible..... please i need some advice!?

I want .ro do a somewhat shirt maintenance  maybe 6 months i was thinking methane to get my life back in track then once I'm down to a lower dose do what you did and switch to suboxone to get through the a acute part of the methane wds ...i want to get my life in order then once it is worry about the wds and getting completely off opiates....

High there. Glad to hear you want to get clean. So, what is your goal? Do you want to get off everything and use methadone or subs to avoid the acute withdrawal or are you going for a maintenance program? I used subs to get me off of methadone, so my opinion is biased, but I would use subs over methadone. I did a 20 day fast sub taper to avoid acute methadone withdrawal. Subs didn't get me high the way methadone did. Subs also prevent abuse, as they have a ceiling dose, meaning if you take more than 32 mg they don't have a stronger effect. The down side of long term sub use is the extra long half life. They don't have as severe physical withdrawal, but it is much longer than any other opioid and I hear the anxiety is through the roof. So tell us your goal and time frame so we can support and advise you better. Good luck and keep us posted.
