In my opinion and from what I read opana is stronger....so I dont understand why the doc would prescribe this to you to taper you down...its also my opinion doctors dont really know a whole lot about long term pain med use and how it effects us...
I have cervical sponlyosis also and have a lot of pain.I have alot of other ailments also. Go for the second opinion and see if he says different.I have never been on anything stronger then loritab.except for short stint on morphine sulfate..I would not take after a couple months because it made me feel weird.take the advice here to heart.U may not need that strong of a drug...It will just get u addicted to something else.as some said here u do have to taper off a that strong a dose..be careful and let us know.Take care
Are you saying Opana is a better (sorry for word) drug?
You didn't rob a pharmacy!?! He may have a contract with an Opana pharm, so many ignorant doctors. Sorry, I 'm working on letting those resentments go, it only hurts me. The Opana is like strong morphine, it helped with my methadone withdrawal in fairly low doses. I haven't taken Opana accept to hold me over. Opana IR is strong stuff. Hope your meeting Monday is a success. Keep us posted.
I'm eventually going to have to get it anyway...spondolisthesis I went from a grade 1 to a high grade 2...When I get to a grade 3 I'm done....Life *****
he said people steal from pharmacies oxycodone. I think the gu;y is nuts. I have another opinion on Monday. I'm so sick of this. I feel like just get the freakin surgery and be done. Thank you for your responses. I don't even know what Opana is..Other than what the computer told me.
I thought about this more, since your last post. Oxycodone is instant release Oxycotin. The Opana is longer acting, it could be easier to taper Extended Release Opana, as your blood levels would be more consistent. Oxycodone goes up fast and down fast, not easy to taper. Did you ask the doctor WHY is he changing you script?
