I also had gastric bypass surgery, but the drugs never left my system that quickly although they did effect me quicker than others.  Do you still see your surgeon from the gastric bypass?  Perhaps go to him/her and ask what they think?  That is a lot to go cold turkey from or perhaps find a pain management clinic that can help you or go to a doctor who can help you come up with a plan to come off the medication safely and much easier than this.

If you want to chat you can PM me anytime!

Hugs,
Janet

I think it is really ****** when a Doc just up and stops your meds.  At that much a day, how do they think that you could possibly get off by yourself?  I would speak to this Doc about him/her giving you enough meds to be able to find someone who can help you.  I wonder if there is some malpractice involved here.  Afterall the Doc is the one who gave you the meds over and over again.  Why are they not somewhat responsible in your care as you try to come down off of these meds.  I did learn on Oprah that when you have bypass, nothing stays in your system.  You also get the "high" sooner because you do not have enough stomach for the pills to go through.  SO, for the rest of us it takes 30 mins for a pill to begin to work, for you it is much faster.  Make an appointment for this Doc and take someone with you, ask them to not take all your meds from you until you can get some help.  Good luck to you.

HE CANNOT DO THIS IT'S NOT RIGHT. HE HAS TO SEND YOU TO A PAIN CLINIC , OR RECOMEND YOU TO ANOTHER DR.
