Don't be disappointed in yourself. Just know that the stuff we took is one of the most addictive drugs on planet earth. We're expected to get either addicted or at least dependent on them. No way around it. I see my addiction as a disease that I have to treat on a daily basis. I also have Asthma that I treat every day.
You need to congratulate yourself, not feel bad! If you have the desire to stay stopped, you landed on the right site my friend. We're here to help. Look at running out as a chance to finally get free from them... this is a chance of a lifetime for you.
Don't be disappointed in yourself. Just look at running out as an opportunity to quit once and for all. You are in acute w/ds, everyone has some great ideas for comfort/distraction. Take baths, get some exercise, cry a little, it's actually a huge relief! Try not to just lay around and toss and turn, that's when the minutes turn in to hours and the depression hits hard. You're in for a rough few days, but it will be so worth it to get your life back, I promise you! You've made it this far, now just keep going!
I am having horrible cold chills right now. I'm keeping a journal I started this morning. I should have never got my refill. Two weeks I cold turkeyed detoxed last month then got that stupid refill.
Ashley you got to cut off that source. Tell your doctor what you're going through and that you want to do something about it. Get your doctor on board. I told my doctor I'm addicted to the stuff and don't want any more of it. He was very happy with my decision and he then really helped me out. I made that commitment to stop using, and haven't regretted it since. Doctors also have some scripts, like Clonidine, they will give you that will really help when you have them working with you to get off of opiates. Just something to think about.
I have Clonodine. 01mg from back in April when I tried to get off pills.
I'm calling tomorrow and canceling my injection for Tuesday and my pain doctor appointment for the 19th.
