Thanks lu. I think the reason I'm feeling them is because I was on 6 pills a day. Not just a couple. I do know it ends but when you get into this mindset you feel desperate and need reassurance. It's not fun going through. That's why I write on here, is for other people to encourage me as well. I'm not in my right mind right now.

Shawnee, you know that it ends because you've been here before.  The best way to get energy is to go out and expend energy (sounds counter-intuitive I know)  But exercise is the best thing to get your seratonin levels boosted, and will increase your energy during the day and make sleep easier to come by at night.
Since you weren't on Tramadol for long and you tapered, I am surprised you are still feeling ANY withdrawal symptoms.
I took it back when I was looking for a non narcotic pain solution, and doctor's still prescribed it as such.  I took it for two months and it didn't help my pain, so I just stopped.  I do not remember having ANY withdrawal symptoms whatsoever.  A lot of this can be created in our minds.  As in, we blame every feeling or ache on withdrawal.
Just practice distraction.  Things will get better, this you know.  Have fun tomorrow!  Shopping and crafting sound like a fun Saturday (:

I don't think that tramadol or any pain medicine is necessary which is why I told my doctor no more tram. My withdrawals have not been awful, but both her and my boyfriend said I would feel them a little. I feel soooooooo much better off them. Don't get me wrong I AM AN ADDICT. But I'm actually proud this time I was able to take them as needed as directed and able to follow a taper schedule, while turning down vicodin from many surgeons.

I have a special addiction therapist I'm seeing weekly for aftercare. However I was not abusing this time around. My boyfriend is a doctor and put me on a taper schedule which helped a lot. This time last year I came off a year of vicodin but haven't touched them since. And have had many opportunities. But I'm waiting to have jaw surgery right now.

YES! it has been 18 days for me with no more than 4 hours a night, but I am detoxing off of a 3 year Suboxone nightmare. Ive taken trazadone, melatonin, valerian root and nothing has let me sleep for more than 4 hours at a time, but this is typical for my situation. I am not familiar with Tramadol w/d but I can very much relate to the sleeping thing, I don't have any energy and am tired all of the time, but if I make myself get up and move it does get better, I hope this doesn't last that long for you and you start feeling better soon. XO C.

Carrie I was on tramadol for about a month in a half. This was not too bad but I HAVE to get rest. Tomorrow I'm going shopping and then having a craft night in hopes that will make me feel better. I'm doing really good overall. The tiredness *****. Then I barely get more than 5 hours of sleep. It's bizarre how I can't sleep when I'm so tired. Anyone else had this? Thanks Jethro!

Hey Shawnee, sorry to hear you're still suffering there.  It can take some weeks to feel stable.   You'll feel good for stretches and think it may be over, then the groggy/tired no energy will come in waves from seemingly nowhere.  Don't worry though, it's completely normal and just part of the process of your body detoxing.  Go with it and try to do something that makes you feel good instead of dwelling on it, even if it's just having a rest and pampering yourself a bit.  You will get feeling stronger, sometimes just gotta give it some time.
