DWUGS! Are fo Sik People! !!!

Ok   I been a long way around!  Am a Nam vet and the V.A. Has had me full of Oxy-codone and Morphine {That WAS A *****} and Valium. Quit the Morphine about 2 months ago, then the Oxys about 6 days ago and at the same time have taken only 1 - 5mg. valium yesterday. With the help of Kratom! I do about 8 to 11 grams per day in a tea-like way.  Right now even tho I hurt like "L" , I am glad to be off of the DWUGS! Now I hope the Kratom will not be a serious problem as I discontinue that too. Yesterday, I could actually smell everyTHING!  Every room has its own odor. My wife, who has been clean totally, does not notice what I do in the smell of each room!
I haxe a broken shoulder, schrappenal in my entire right leg, Big time back problems, with a bullet still in there, have had lower back surgery, and will exercise all this **** outta me ! Right now, I am hurting in the upper back and neck, but I am 6' 5". or was LOL now 6' 4", and this typing hurts. But I feel free, except for the kratom ! This the way you hafta live life ?  Gotta tuff it out   eh? K! Guess Im givin it a shot!

That's awesome, hats off to you for doing this. It ain't easy but nothing good ever comes easy. Keep doing what your doing and like the poster above, I also agree that when abused painkillers actually cause pain. I am on day 5 off being off of oxys. The first few days were a pure living hell. I had NO energy and felt like dying. Today I am feeling a little bit better. I am still having cravings (******* crazy that my body would demand something that could and would destroy it in time) but I have two babies under 2 and they are my reason for doing this. I lost my mom 3 years ago to pills and I'm bound and determined to make sure they never go through what I did with my mom. I wanna make them proud :) Keep posting, the people here have been so much help and have helped me tough out the first really bad days. I know I'm not out of thr woods yet but I think the worst of the withdrawals is over, now the hard part - STAYING clean. But we can and will do it. Jodie

huh- cool name.
so you are going to trade in the drug induced for pain. you will see it is amazing all the things we can come up with for dealing with pain when we remove the drug option.

i think that is so cool that you are enjoying the smells of your house. you have just begun a new journey on self discoveries that is going to blow you away. everything is going to be 'new' now and like an adventure. that is how it was for me and still is..... and i haven't heard many experience it that way yet. but i think you are on the same road as me. i am just a little further up the path like about a year and a half. but i am sure you will catch up. best to you.

Hey there....you are an inspiration. I thought the mention of smell was interesting. When I started to withdrawl from opiates my sense of smell was incredibly sensitive. Almost to the point of painful. Glad you are enjoying the new sensation.

How does the Kratom work for you? I read about it a few weeks ago but didn't try it.

WOW..hope u stick with it and make it thru...chronic pain and addiction just suk for sure....fact is tho in the long run/if u r an addict/the emotional pain of using can kill any pain relief in a heartbeat///some do not feel emotional pain from the control narcotics can have on a person..others can not stand it..i was one who could not stand the control they had over me..to each his own...and i am glad u feel free...there is also a great pain forum here

One caveat about the kratom......I know of at least one instance in which the person doing kratom leaf developed a serious problem due to herbicides on the kratom leaf. I used the 10x and 15x concentrates when I used it.

And "Welcome home!" I am also a Nam era vet ..... did my first smack from Pleiku.....$40 a quarter ounce back then...........I barely missed Operation Golden Flow and would probably still be in country if I would ever have been tested......
